Konzert zum Jahreswechsel

No other piece of classical music is as significant as Beethoven’s Ninth. Since it was premiered in Berlin in 1826 during Beethoven’s lifetime, it has been a constant in the repertoire of the Königlich Preußische Hofkapelle (Royal Prussian Court Orchestra) which later became the Staatskapelle Berlin. Bringing the old year to an end and welcoming the new one in with this work is a musical celebration of a special kind.
