The concert season begins with music from three different countries and cultures, composed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries: Rachmaninov’s highly virtuoso Piano Concerto No. 3 is combined with Elgar’s witty musical portrait of the knight Falstaff from Shakespeare’s »Henry IV.«. And to this, the legendary figure of »Till Eulenspiegel« is added in the form of a dazzling tone poem.
