FOR THE OPENING OF THE BAROCKTAGE 2021

The BAROCKTAGE 2021 is, for the most part, dedicated to French music – a culture that consciously saw and distinguished itself as an alternative to the prevailing music of the time. During the baroque period, Italian opera dominated Europe, but independent forms of music theatre evolved in Paris and Versailles. The purpose of this panel discussion with artists is to examine the musical culture of France during the baroque period from different perspectives and to trace its particularities, both in terms of aesthetics and historical significance.
