In the summer and autumn of 1780, Mozart composed his Symphony in C major KV 338 in Salzburg, the city of his birth, and in the spring of the following year, he performed the work for the first time in his adopted home of Vienna. Anton Bruckner also settled in the music metropolis on the Danube. With his Symphony No. 7 from the early 1880s, he achieved his breakthrough as a composer.
