Staatskapelle Berlin

Mozart wrote uncommonly many piano duets – several sonatas for four hands, one for two pianos, and a concerto for two pianos. The latter boldly elaborated work in E-flat major will be performed as part of the Staatskapelle’s FESTTAGE concert series, followed by a major Anton Bruckner symphony in the same key. Its “Romantic” nickname is well-earned: it features sounds and expressive themes that immediately evoke many of the word’s connotations.
