»The miller’s joy is wandering…« Schubert’s song cycle »Die schöne Müllerin« begins light-heartedly. Yet the story of the journeyman miller who is unhappily in love turns out to be a multi-layered one-person drama.

In this staged version, bass-baritone Florian Boesch and director and puppeteer Nikolaus Habjan adopt a unique approach to the subject matter. With the Musicbanda Franui, who describe themselves as a “transformer station between classical music, folk music, jazz and contemporary chamber music”, they tell this well-known story in a new way.
